Alister McGrath is a leading public theologian. After initial flirtations with scientific atheism as a teenager, he discovered Christianity while he was a science undergraduate at Oxford University. He is best known for his public engagement with the scientific atheism of Richard Dawkins; for his widely-used theological textbooks, which have been translated into 20 languages; and for his award-winning biography of CS Lewis (2013).
