Can God make himself known to anyone?

In episode 1 of our sixth season of Questions of our Times, we talk with Revd Paul Cowley, a former soldier and prisoner, and now a minister and author of the book Thief, Prisoner, Soldier, Priest, about the experience of God in his own life, and in the lives of others.

Paul, a former youth offender who became a soldier, and later a priest, launched the initiative Caring for Ex-Offenders in 2004, equipping churches to mentor those who are released from prison. In 2022, the food chain Iceland appointed him as its first Director of Rehabilitation, offering employment opportunities to prison leavers. For his services to ex-offenders, Paul was appointed an MBE in 2015.

This interview, hosted by Nigel Bovey, was broadcast live on Premier Christian Radio on 27 October 2026.
